Do you like McDonalds'?
Today Ronald McDonald came to our kindergarten and yes, he spoke Chinese!! The children all gathered for an assembly outside and out came Ronald McDonald, dancing and smiling. One poor little girl began to cry hysterically, terrified of his painted face. But the other children loved him. The younger teachers were almost equally excited. He sang a song and did a little dance about washing your hands--a great marketing scheme for McDonalds' (aka Mai Dong Lao. Ironically, I learned this in my Chinese class two years ago and wondered why I would ever need to know how to say McDonalds' in Chinese. Well, it came in handy after all!)
Yesterday afternoon I attended a taekwondo class. The instructor is just thrilled that I come, and pays special attention to correct my positioning.
