Happy Pioneer Day!

This is what my desk looked like last Monday...scary, eh? I was in the middle of making the recipe books for our Relief Society Activity on Tuesday, which turned out wonderfully. The evening's theme was self-reliance, and we had three different classes: money management, nutrition, journal writing. Then we assembled recipe books and had a make-your-own-smoothie party in the kitchen. I'm so grateful that everything turned out well!
In addition to Relief Society, schoolwork has kept me very busy. Chinese is going well, but our writing assignments have proved challenging. Last week's was about health insurance and the week before that it was gender inequality...those are sticky subjects in English, let alone Chinese! Our most recent essay was about "The Dao," and all the return missionaries in my class wrote about the Plan of Salvation...gotta love BYU.

All dressed up for "Brigham's Ball!" We went to a family dance in honor of Pioneer Day. Thanks to Amy for the costumes!
